Overview
More bite than stock, still a street pad.
Yellowstuff is EBC's best-selling high-friction pad, made in the UK. It grips well from cold, resists fade when things get hot, and stops shorter than the factory pads, while staying quiet enough to drive every day.
Bite
Strong from the first stop.
High friction with good cold bite, so the pedal feels sharper from the first stop of the day and stays progressive as you push harder.
Heat
Built to resist fade.
The compound is designed to hold its friction at high temperatures, for hard back-road driving and heavy braking.
Quiet
Shimmed, slotted, chamfered.
Each pad comes with shims, a slot and chamfered edges to keep noise down, plus NRS mechanical hooks that lock the friction material to the backing plate.
Track
Know before you lap.
EBC reformulated Yellowstuff in 2021 to remove copper. The new mix beds in more slowly, and EBC now points track-day drivers to its Bluestuff pad.

InstallPad swap, then bed them in.
Swap the pads
Remove the caliper, push the piston back, clean the carrier and slide pins, and fit the new pads. Fresh or resurfaced rotors give the best result.
Reassemble and pump the pedal
Torque the caliper bolts to factory spec and pump the brake pedal until it's firm before moving the car.
Bed them in
Make a series of firm stops from moderate speed without coming to a full stop, then drive gently to let them cool. The copper-free Yellowstuff takes longer to bed in than the old formula, so give it a few hundred miles of normal driving too.

Is this front and rear?
No — this is the front axle set only. The rear needs a separate set.
Will it fit my base MK7 GTI?
Only if it has the Performance Pack (340mm front rotors). The base car's 312mm front brake uses a different pad.
Are they good on track?
Yellowstuff is a fast-street pad. Since EBC's 2021 copper-free update, EBC recommends Bluestuff for track days.
Do they dust a lot?
They're a higher-friction pad than factory, so expect some dust — the trade-off for the extra bite.
Should I change rotors too?
New pads on worn rotors won't perform their best. The 034 1-Piece 340mm front rotors are a direct match.
