VW Golf 8 LED Rear Emblem Installation
VW Golf 8 — LED Rear Emblem Installation

The dynamic LED emblem assembly with app-controlled lighting
1: Disassembly
- Remove the original flipped emblem housing from the car trunk.
- Disconnect and remove the factory backup camera along with its wiring harness.
- Disassemble the new dynamic emblem housing by removing the four screws holding its main components together so you can mount your camera inside it.
2: Camera Prep & Bracket Installation
- Attach the small camera bracket extension (provided in the package) onto the stock camera.
Note: Pay attention to the orientation — align the narrower side and push until it clicks or snaps firmly into place. - Secure the bracket extension using the flat, longer screw in the center hole.
- Mount the camera into the dynamic camera housing capsule, aligning the interface with the screw holes.
- Secure the camera inside the capsule using the two flat, round-head screws.
- Plug the stock camera wiring harness back into the camera unit before inserting the unit further into the assembly.
3: Final Assembly
- Feed the camera capsule into its track on the main emblem flip mechanism.
- Install the slide track cover over it and lock it down using the original track screws.
- Snap the mechanical linkage arm into place. You can manually test the mechanism by gently pushing it to ensure the camera flips out smoothly.
- Align the motor actuator with the camera flip mechanism.
Crucial Tip: Make sure the motor's rocker arm is perfectly straight and aligned with the slot. If it is skewed or crooked, the badge will not flip open or close all the way. - Secure the motor to the capsule assembly using the longest screw through the center alignment hole, then tighten down the surrounding corner screws.
- Snap the VW emblem faceplate onto the front of the mechanism.
- Lock down the entire housing by putting back and tightening the four medium-length outer screws. Your assembled emblem is now ready to go back on the car.
