21-LED Dragon Scale Ambient Lighting Kit
A full interior lighting retrofit for the MK7 Golf — dash strip, both footwells, front door strips, door handles, and interior storage boxes, wired into the factory harness and controlled from your phone via Bluetooth.

Connect the main controller
Behind the dash, plug the main controller's CAN connector into the factory 12-pin connector.

Wire each front door
On the door controller connector, match the green wire to pin 14 and the brown wire to pin 15.

Unplug the factory 18-pin connector from the door power harness, fit it onto the kit's 20-pin white connector, then plug that back into the factory socket.

Run the dash strip along the factory dashboard trim piece, and route a footwell strip down to each side.

Each front door gets three lit points: the upper door strip, the door handle, and the interior storage box.

Pull the door card trim strip and cut the factory welding tabs on the back to free it.
Cut the welding tabs, then remove the strip
Fit the new light strip into the trim piece where the tabs were cut, then solder it back in place.

Drill a small mounting hole in the door's interior storage box and route the LED lead through.

Drill a small hole in the door handle surround to mount the handle light, then tuck the lead in with the factory harness.

Download the companion app (WeChat mini program or the standalone mobile app — QR codes are on the kit's quick-start card) and connect via Bluetooth to the device broadcasting as "ATW-XXXX."
Pair over Bluetooth, then load the Golf 7 configuration in Factory Setting
In the app, go to Settings → Factory Setting, enter code 1688, set Model Dial to 1, then tap OK to load the Golf 7 lighting configuration.
| Problem | Cause | Solution |

| LED is not on | Power cable isn't connected properly, or brightness is set to 0 | Check the power and ground connections, then adjust brightness |
| Light is too dim | Strip isn't seated in the right spot, or is bent too tightly | Reseat and reconnect the strip |
| Color displays wrong | Short circuit | Check the wiring |
| Can't control lighting | Wrong switch or setting | Check the switch |
