Free US shipping on orders over $100.
Overview
Stainless that won't crack.
Fabster Industries builds this skid plate in Quebec to replace the MK6.5 Jetta 1.8TSI's plastic engine tray. It protects the underbody far better than the stock plastic, and unlike aluminum plates it won't crack.
Material
Stainless steel.
Tougher than the factory plastic tray, and it flexes instead of cracking the way aluminum plates can.
Oil changes
Shaped drain-plug pocket.
A formed pocket under the drain plug lets you change the oil without taking the plate off.
Hardware
New stainless fasteners.
Fresh stainless steel hardware comes in the box.
Fit
Direct bolt-on.
Bolts up in place of the factory plastic tray on the MK6.5 Jetta 1.8TSI.

FAQQuestions, answered.
Do I have to remove it for oil changes?
No. The shaped pocket under the drain plug lets you drain the oil with the plate in place.
Why stainless instead of aluminum?
Stainless is tougher and won't crack the way aluminum plates can after a hard hit.
Why the 3–4 week wait?
Fabster makes each plate to order in Quebec, Canada before it ships.
Does it fit the Jetta TDI?
No — Fabster makes a separate plate for the MK6 TDI. Ask us if you need that one.
Does it come with hardware?
Yes — new stainless steel fasteners are included.
What's the return policy?
Uninstalled and in original packaging, returns fall under our standard refund policy. Get in touch before sending anything back.
