The BPY is a good engine that gets treated badly — skipped intervals, cheap oil, then a rattling chain tensioner at 90k. Leichtlauf High Tech 5W-40 is the sensible answer: a proper VW 502 00 full synthetic with the shear stability a direct-injected turbo four actually needs. The FSI takes about 4.6 liters, so the 5-liter jug finishes the job with a little left for top-ups.
