Will it fit?

VW reworked the Jetta's front end for the 2015 facelift, so the pre- and post-facelift grille openings aren't interchangeable. Pick the variant that matches your year — the wrong one won't clip in.

Installation

Half an hour, no bumper removal.

The Jetta grille clips into the bumper from the front, so this is one of the rare exterior jobs that doesn't start with pulling the whole fascia. Work slowly on the clips — they're the only part that punishes impatience.

Open the hood and find the top clips The upper grille edge is retained by a row of tabs along the top of the bumper. Some years add screws at the outer corners — check both ends before pulling anything.

Release the retaining tabs Work along the row with a plastic trim tool, pressing each tab and easing the grille forward as you go. Warm plastic releases better than cold — if it's below freezing, give the car a few minutes of engine heat first.

Pull the factory grille Once the top row is free, the grille tips forward and lifts out. Watch the lower tabs on the way out so they don't snap — you'll want them intact if you ever go back to stock.

Transfer the emblem, if you're keeping it The VW roundel is retained from behind on the factory grille. If your new grille is emblem-delete or you're running an LED emblem, this is the moment to sort it out — much easier with the grille off the car.

Seat the hybrid grille Locate the lower tabs first, then rotate the top edge in and press along the row until every clip seats. You'll hear each one. Don't force a corner — if one end won't go, a lower tab is misaligned.

Check the gaps Step back and look at the panel gaps either side. They should be even against the headlights. Re-seat any screws you removed at the corners and close the hood.
