The upper console panel frames the shifter and runs back toward the armrest — the most-touched, most-visible surface in the MK8 cabin. Keys, rings and a phone sliding across it all leave their mark, and once it's scuffed or a clip has let go, the whole console reads as worn. This is the genuine VW part, ordered against the factory part number, so the fix is a straight swap rather than a film or a wrap-over cover.

How do I know if I need the manual or DSG panel?
If your car has three pedals, choose Manual. If it has a DSG selector, choose DSG / Automatic. If you'd rather have it confirmed against your build, email us your VIN and we'll check the exact panel VW fitted.
Is this the real VW part?
Yes — genuine Volkswagen, ordered against the factory part number. Not a reproduction, not a wrap, and not a cover that sits over your existing trim.
Why not just use PPF or an overlay?
Both leave the original panel underneath. Film can lift at the edges over time, and overlays rarely match VW's satin and chrome finish exactly. If your panel is already marked or a clip has broken, replacing it is the only route back to stock.
Does the shifter or boot come with it?
No. This is the trim panel only — your existing shifter, boot and surrounding switches all carry over.
Can I do this myself?
Yes. It's a clip-in trim panel with no wiring of its own. Use a proper plastic pry tool, start from the rear edge, and go slowly around the clips so you don't crack the console beneath it.
