Finish the roofline.
The MK6 Jetta's rear window ends in a plain, flat edge. A roof spoiler adds a small lip that carries the roofline back and makes the rear look lower and sharper, without anything as loud as a wing.

InstallTape-on install.
Test-fit first
Hold the spoiler in place with painter's tape and check the gaps and centering before anything sticks. Mark the position.
Clean the surface
Wash the top edge of the rear window, then wipe it and the spoiler's mounting face with isopropyl alcohol. Wax and residue are the main reason tape lets go.
Prime and tape
Wipe adhesion promoter on both surfaces and apply 3M automotive double-sided tape to the spoiler. Don't touch the adhesive.
Set it
Peel the backing, line it up with your marks and press firmly along the full length for at least 30 seconds.
Let it cure
Tape reaches full strength over about 72 hours. Install above 60°F if you can, and skip the car wash for a few days.
Professional install recommended. A body shop can do it in well under an hour.

Does it need painting?
No. It arrives painted gloss black. You can have it color-matched by a body shop if you want it to match the car.
Is tape strong enough?
Yes, with proper prep. Clean the surfaces, use adhesion promoter and let the tape cure for about 72 hours.
What tape should I use?
3M automotive double-sided tape with Primer 94 adhesion promoter. Neither is included.
Does it fit the 2015–2018 facelift?
Yes. It fits MK6 and MK6.5 Jetta sedans, 2011–2018, including the GLI.
Will it fit a SportWagen?
No. The SportWagen has a different roof and rear glass.
Can I take it off later?
Yes. Warm the tape with a heat gun, slice through it with fishing line and clean off the residue.
Will it survive a car wash?
Once the tape has fully cured, yes. Give it a few days first.
