The factory Harman Kardon and Fender subwoofers use different connectors and pin layouts. This adapter lets a Fender sub plug straight into an MK8's factory Harman Kardon wiring, with no cutting or splicing and nothing changed on the car's harness. It's a straight adapter: it doesn't amplify or process the signal.
