Overview
The R badge, blacked out properly.
Not a sticker, not a wrap, not a replica. This is the genuine Volkswagen R grille emblem for the pre-facelift MK8, refinished in deep gloss black and sealed under clear coat — so it looks factory and lasts like it.
Genuine Part
Real VW, not a copy.
Every emblem starts as a brand-new Volkswagen part, so the shape, depth and clips are exactly what left the factory.
The Finish
Multi-layer gloss black.
The chrome is specially prepped so the paint bonds, then built up in several layers of high-gloss black and sealed with clear coat to stand up to weather and washes.
Install
Clips in. No tape.
It uses the factory clip mounts — no adhesive, no drilling. Pop the old badge out and press this one in, about ten minutes.
Also Available
The MK8.5 GTI grille badge.

Release the factory emblem
Work around the edge with a plastic trim tool to release the clips. Avoid metal tools — they'll mark the paint.
Clean the mounting area
Wipe the grille where the emblem sits so nothing gets trapped behind the new one.
Press in the painted emblem
Line it up and press evenly until every clip seats.

FAQQuestions, answered.
Is it a real VW emblem?
Yes — a brand-new genuine Volkswagen emblem, refinished in gloss black. No stickers, wraps or replicas.
Why one week to ship?
Each emblem is painted to order and needs time for the paint and clear coat to cure properly before it ships.
Will it fit my 2025 Golf R?
No — this emblem is for the 2022–2024 pre-facelift grille. Send us your VIN if you're unsure.
How durable is the paint?
It's built up in multiple layers over a prepped chrome surface and sealed under clear coat, so it handles weather and car washes like factory paint.
Do I need adhesive?
No. It clips into the factory mounts exactly like the original.
What's the return policy?
Because each emblem is painted to order, get in touch before ordering if you have any fitment questions. Unused items fall under our standard refund policy.
