Pano shades sag, tear at the leading edge, or stop retracting evenly — and once one goes, there is no repairing the mesh. This is the genuine VW replacement assembly, in the two factory headliner colors.

This is the factory sunshade assembly under part number 5NA-877-307 — the same unit the dealer would fit. The fabric tension, cassette, and guide rails are exactly what the roof was engineered around, so it tracks and stops where it should instead of binding halfway.
The Colors
Matched to your headliner.
VW built the Tiguan with two interior headliner shades, and the pano shade is specific to each. FG2 is the black interior; SZ5 is the gray. Order the one that matches what is already in the car — a mismatched shade is the first thing anyone notices looking up.
The Fix
Back to full shade, not a patch.
Sagging fabric, a torn edge, or a shade that only closes two thirds of the way are all signs the assembly is done. Replacing it restores the full blackout across the glass and puts the summer cabin temperature back where it belongs.
The Install
A shop job, and we will say so.
This is not a clip-in part. The headliner has to come down and the pano cassette has to be accessed to swap the shade, which is why most owners have an interior or glass shop handle it. Budget a few hours of labor and it goes in cleanly.

The first-generation Tiguan uses the 1K9-877-307 shade family — a completely different assembly. Message us and we can source that one instead.

How do I know if I need black or gray?
Look at the headliner around the roof opening, not at your seats. If it reads black, order FG2. If it reads gray, order SZ5. Send us your VIN at contact@eurowerks.co and we will confirm it for you.
Where do I find my build date?
On the sticker inside the driver door jamb, shown as month and year of production. It has to be 10/2019 or earlier for this shade. If you cannot read it, send us the VIN and we will pull it.
Is this the whole shade assembly?
Yes. This is the genuine VW sunshade unit for the panoramic roof, not a fabric-only repair kit.
Will it fit a Tiguan without a pano roof?
No. This part only applies to cars built with the factory panoramic roof.
My Tiguan was built after 10/2019 — now what?
VW switched to a different shade assembly at that point. Email us the VIN and we will quote the correct part rather than send you this one.
Can I install this myself?
We do not recommend it. The headliner has to come down to reach the pano cassette, so this is best handled by an interior, glass, or dealer shop. Most quote a few hours of labor.
